PRLog (Pre auto part chrysler ss Release)– Mar 25, 2011– A group containing many of the UK's leading law firms, The Legal Sector Alliance (LSA), unveiled a report yesterday where it confirms that it has cut its carbon emissions by an average 12% in the last three years.
The Legal Sector Alliance (LSA) has delivered significant reductions in its carbon footprint since the launch of a voluntary carbon disclosure project designed to provide a comprehensive picture of sustainability performance across the legal sector.
According to the report, a group of 18 executive members including leading law firms such as Dickinson Dees, Hogan Lovells and SJ Berwin, has achieved a total reduction of more than 17,500 tonnes of carbon emissions since 2008.
Law Society CEO, Desmond Hudson, said the drop in carbon emissions showed carbon management has become a priority for its LSA members, who had made particularly good progress tackling carbon emissions from energy use and business travel. He added that law firms have continued to make significant energy reductions through behavioural changes and investment in energy efficient technology.
The report also revealed that 15 firms public buick ly reported their carbon emissions using the LSA Protocol spreadsheet, which provides a standard approach for measuring carbon emissions that makes the performance of different firms comparable. Out of 30 members that had previously reported their carbon emissions, two-thirds achieved a reduction in absolute carbon emissions.
